Mission

Building stronger rural communities by empowering underserved populations with the necessary tools for successful entrepreneurship.

Vision

Our vision is to create healthy communities across Africa. We do that first by creating a baseline of financial self-sufficiency through our microfinance and Business Management Education program. We encourage community building and entrepreneurship, and leadership throughout the village. Through our on-the-ground partnerships, efforts, and surveys, we recognize the essential products or programs that will increase the amount of healthy communities across Africa.

Values

The main strength of Lumana is our core set of values that unify our team, cooperatives, and partners in the field.

We believe that to lift communities out of poverty we must offer education, and a holistic community-centered development approach to create more effective market participants.

We strive to create a community of encouragement and mentorship by identifying leaders in our cooperatives who can encourage other Lumana clients to innovate and succeed.

We work with outside organizations to constantly research new ways to survey, organize, and create financial products tailored to our clients' needs.
